Home Information Packs and Energy Performance Certificates

It is now mandatory for all properties being sold to have a Home Information Pack commissioned before a property can be marketed for sale.

This pack contains legal information such as evidence of title and searches normally used in the conveyancing process and the new Energy Performance Certificate. The Energy Performance Certificate is a report prepared by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor on the energy efficiency and environmental impact of your property along with the approximate costs of heating and lighting it. It further contains recommendations for the eventual buyer of your property to implement in order to improve its energy efficiency and in doing so save themselves money on their heating bills and reducing harmful carbon emissions on the environment, one of the main causes of global warming.
